GRAIN ROT Second Floor Progression
The second Outpost floor combines several different player questions, so unlocking access, clearing Rot and using its services must be explained separately.
How to unlock the second floor
Complete Biggie’s opening tasks, Quill’s early story work and the Deep Layers rescue/key objectives shown in the quest log. The second-floor door opens through progression; stacking furniture to reach an upper balcony does not count as the unlock.
After every rescue or key objective, return to the quest giver and finish the conversation. A completed action that has not been turned in can leave the door locked.
Second-floor rooms and machines
The floor introduces Tink, room restoration tasks and the repair/enchantment machine. Upgrade the Shop asks for one placed structure in Biggie’s area and one in Murch’s workshop; two inexpensive chairs can satisfy the placement check.
Better Than New uses the item machine, while Back in Business asks you to level the required room to 3. Read the room boundary before placing expensive furniture.
Repair and upgrade an item
Bring an eligible damaged item and 100 gold to the second-floor repair and enchanting machine. Read the displayed result, confirm the item is accepted and check durability after the interaction.
Healing Glue is not a general substitute for the machine, and ammunition is separate from weapon durability.
Cross the Scorch and clear Rot
Use an Umbrella or Shade Spear for a protected crossing, or burn Rot with a flame-capable vessel or an ignited oil lantern. Improve stamina before a long open-surface route and use the intermediate building as a rest point.
Carry only the objective gear across the exposed area. Side-loot detours can consume the protection and leave too little stamina for the return.

Burn Rot with a flame-capable vessel attack or an activated oil lantern broken directly on the infected surface. Move teammates and valuable objects away, ignite from a safe retreat path and wait until the whole patch is gone before crossing.
Repair WeaponsThe repair and enchanting machine is on the second Outpost floor. Bring an eligible damaged item, interact with the machine and read the displayed price before paying. Budget 100 gold for a full repair, but follow the amount shown in your game because costs can change after an update.

Finish each return conversation before starting the next milestone.
Floor 3 StatusFloor 3 is not part of the normal launch progression as of September 2, 2026. The official roadmap says the October 2026 Halloween Update is planned to open the third Outpost floor and add a new questline, but it gives no exact day or unlock steps.
