GRAIN ROT Elevator Symbols and Run Modifiers

The elevator panel is a pre-run warning system: it tells the crew what kind of problem or opportunity may exist below before the doors open.

Quick answer: Treat each symbol as an exit blocker, hazard, utility room or reward modifier. The fuse blocks extraction until replaced; the eye signals darkness; the bear trap adds floor traps; map and press add utility rooms. For skull, keyhole and question-cube runs, prepare the exit before chasing optional rewards.
Current note: Modifiers can stack, so solve extraction blockers and hazards before exploring reward rooms.

Elevator symbol guide

Read the symbols before anyone leaves the elevator. Exit blockers come first, then visibility and floor hazards, and only then optional reward rooms.

Best order of operations

For a fuse run, find the replacement and install it before clearing optional rooms. For darkness or traps, slow the first room down and mark the safe path back. For map, press, keyhole or cube runs, prepare extraction before chasing the bonus.

When skull appears, plan for both Rot and heavier enemy pressure. Fire, a clear corridor and an early exit are useful under either version of the hazard.

Stacked symbols

Modifiers combine. A reward symbol does not cancel an exit blocker, and darkness makes every trap or enemy route harder to read. The crew should name the most dangerous combination before splitting up.

If a fuse, darkness and loot bonus appear together, the safe order is fuse search, elevator payment, then optional loot.

What to carry

A flashlight solves the eye condition, fire handles Rot, and an open inventory slot makes a fuse recovery easier. Coins are still required after the fuse is installed, so do not spend the extraction reserve.

In co-op, assign one player to the required object and another to route memory. That prevents a spare fuse or valuable item from disappearing into an unknown container.
